Company Background And Innovation Idea ABC Company is an Australian based company that provides technology related solution to its clients. The company was founded in 1992 and has been working well since its foundation. As of today, the company has its head office in Melbourne and has an estimated workforce of 200 employees. The employees working in the company enjoy a number of efficient human resource policies that keeps them loyal towards the company but of late, the workplace environment has been turning out to be boring and lacks challenges for the employees. Therefore, the human resource managers of the company have thought of implementing a new activity in the workplace that would promote the creative side of the employees. For achieving it, the managers have thought of conducting weekly creativity boosting sessions where all the employees will be able to participate and write down about an idea, which they think will help the company in becoming more competitive in the market (Birsel, 2017). Creativity Boosting Session The management of the company has thought of communicating the plan to the employees through their monthly periodical and also through the word of mouth. There will be a total of 8 creativity boosting sessions that would take almost two months. In every successive session, the employees will be able to pick up from the same point where they had left their plan in the previous session. To ensure adequate employee motivation and engagement levels, the human resource management of the company also plans to announce that the winning idea will be actually implemented in the company as a pilot project and the employee, who will be behind the innovation of the idea, will be appointed as one of the leaders in the pilot projects. Advantages Of The Idea The company aims at fostering a better workplace culture by introducing such an innovative idea as it has never been tried in the company before. The idea in itself is innovative because it will provide a brilliant platform to the employees where they will be able to demonstrate their creativity and innovation skills. Further, the idea of actually implementing one of the ideas out of all those ideas will act as a motivational factor as the employees will stand a chance to gain recognition. It is also possible that the company might recognize certain areas where the employees feel that it lacks efficiency or productivity as a pool of 200 employees will be working their minds to identify a weak area of their company and to device an improvement plan for the same. Resource Requirements One of the biggest advantages of this system is that it will not be a burden on the resources of the company because all it requires is the presence of 200 people in a single hall for one hour every week. The company will be able to pull it off as it has its own conference hall that has a seating capacity of 500 people approximately. An important source that the company would require for the program is time. Asking the employees to stay back after work can be tricky as it can interfere with their work life balance. Therefore, the company will have to ensure that the employees are given an off of one hour on the day of the session so that they can consider it as an on-the-job activity. The human resource management will also have to appoint a team of leaders that will govern the operations and working of the sessions. Further, they will also have to conduct a thorough analysis of every individual plan that the employees will design. Though the initiative is cost effective, it might re quire a lot of time to render fruitful results. To ensure smooth running of the sessions, the human resource management of the company has proposed a budget of AU $10,000, which has been sanctioned by the senior level management. Conclusion The creativity boosting session designed by the human resource management of the company is effective as it will not be a burden on the resources of the company and at the same time, it will have multiple benefits, such as increased innovation and creativity, fostering a competitive environment and also in keeping the employees engaged and motivated.
